The TPTP supports a Texas House Speaker OTHER THAN Joe Straus and Encourages the Texas House Republicans to Caucus by themselves to elect a House Speaker

The Texas Patriots Tea Party join conservative groups all over Texas seeking to replace current Texas House leadership with truly conservative members.  The Tea Party movement helped change the Republican numbers in the Texas House from 76 [before Nov 2] to 99 [on Nov 2]… significant increase requiring significant change in the leadership.  Speaker Straus no longer represents the will of Texans and should be replaced.  See letter [Ltr House Empower 20101104 and Interview Sullivan] to House Representatives from Empower Texans and signed by numerous tea party and conservative organization.  The TPTP is backing this effort, but didn’t make the signing. Two conservative candidates for House Speaker [Ken Paxton and Warren Chisum] spoke on Thursday, Nov 18th at Painless Performance Products in Fort Worth at 7PM.  Bill Zedler also attended.
